Aesthetic dentistry

Well-cared-for teeth say everything, or at least a lot, about your personality.

Modern dentistry is much more than dental care and prevention.

Dentist Jan Van Dijck also works at the Wellness clinic in Genk and has a clear

view on aesthetic dental treatments.

Facets, facings and veneers are applied with the utmost care.
Besides ensuring a nice finish we also pride ourselves in guaranteeing a hermetic bond. This can either be in composite or porcelain material. A total porcelain treatment is one of the options.
We will give you back your smile!

Aesthetic treatments are not reimbursed by the health insurance fund.

Prosthetic dentistry

There are many options for permanent teeth replacement: Jan Van Dijck

is an authority in placing crowns and bridges, as well as implants.

Due to his excellent team of experienced dental technicians, you have definitely come to the right place.

Crowns and bridges

This is a completely fixed, non-removable tooth replacement. In this treatment, the remaining teeth are filed all around by means of a dental drill. These teeth often already contain a filling. The filed teeth will then serve as a support for a new crown (single tooth) or a bridge (multiple teeth).

Dental implants

In this treatment, screws (titanium implants) are placed in the jawbone. A removable prosthesis can now be clicked onto this screw or, alternatively, a fixed structure can be screwed or cemented onto it. If there is not enough supporting tissue (jawbone) present, we also master a number of modern techniques to place the implants.

Loose prosthesis

Plastic prosthesis: either a partial prosthesis or a complete prosthesis if no own teeth are left.
Our dental centre offers different types of prostheses that you can choose from.

Frame prosthesis

A partial prosthesis with a metal base, also called skeleton dentures. The prosthesis has a limited volume, it is finer and is more stable due to the cast anchors that rest on the remaining teeth. These dentures feel firmer and more comfortable.

Endodontics

Root canal treatment (Endodontics) consists of removing the nerves located in the roots of the tooth. Root canal treatments or denervations are an absolute speciality
of dentist Jan Van Dijck and his team.

Our practice works with the advanced thermoplastic method.
After a thorough preparation in which the nerve is removed, the tooth is cleaned, cleared, filed, rinsed, disinfected and dried, we fill the root canals with warm gutta.
The gutta percha is heated to make it sticky so that the root canal is more hermetically sealed compared to the traditional method (gutta cones, a kind of rubber sticks).

We prepare the root channels using state-of-the-art techniques (mechanical channel preparation with an endomotor and length determination via an electronic apex locator). This extremely delicate treatment considerably increases the life span of a weakened tooth.

Implantology

A natural tooth consists of two parts: a crown and a root.

An implant, on the other hand, is an artificial root made of metal and/or ceramic material. These materials are well-tolerated by the body and the surrounding bone.

In our practice, we use high-quality implants (Nobel biocare, Straumann, Ankylos). Since 2013, our team is specialised in the placement of short implants such as Bicon.

When the bone is sufficiently attached to the artificial root, the implant serves as the basis for a crown or as a support for a dental prosthesis.
The part on top of the implant and the gums is the superstructure.
This structure consists of a crown, a bridge, or an overdenture.

What can implants do?

• Replace a single tooth or molar

• Replace multiple teeth

• Replace all teeth and molars

Paediatric dentistry

We have noticed that an increasing number of children have problems with their teeth due to the high sugar content in food and beverages. This can be a problem at a young age. The care of milk teeth is crucial to prevent problems at a young and
later age.

Just like normal teeth, milk teeth have a nerve (pulpa).
Toothache is therefore not excluded.

If you don’t take care of your milk teeth on time, the risk of abscesses increases.
And if you have your milk teeth pulled out early, the risk of misalignment
of the permanent teeth increases. Our team takes care of a continued follow-up
of children’s teeth.
